BellamyBellamy Young, born Amy Maria Young on February 19, 1970, [1]) was an American actress, producer and singer , best known for playing Melody "Mellie", Grant and the drama of ABC's Scandal (2012)-2018. In 2014, the Critics' Choice TV awarded her the top Supporting Actress Award in Drama Series. She starred in the 2019 season as Prodigal Son on Fox. Young started her career as an actor through theatre. Her Broadway debut came in 1997 in the role of Mary The Life. The Life. [8][9] She has also played off Broadway in Stephen Sondheim's Musical Merrily We're Rolling Along (1994), and Randy Newman's Faust (1995-1996). The actress made her television debut as The Dr. Courtney Evans in 1995 on the NBC's Another World soap opera. [7] She guest-starred in Law & Order in 1997 and 1998, in two distinct roles. The year 1999 saw her film debut with tiny roles in the crime-drama Black and White and later she co-starred in various independent films. Beginning in 2000, she began appearing in guest-starring in a variety of television dramas and comedies, including The Drew Carey Show, The X Files, ER, Frasier, The West Wing, NCIS, Medium, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Two and a Half Men, Supernatural, Drop Dead Diva, and Castle. Young has made more than 30 appearances on TV shows from 2000 to 2011.
