LeBron Raymone James Sr. is an American basketball player who is a player for the Los Angeles Lakers in the National Basketball Association. King James, he's widely considered to be the most successful basketball player ever and is often is compared with Michael Jordan during debates about the best basketball player ever. James has been awarded four NBA championships and four NBA MVP award and four NBA Finals MVP awards three All-Star MVP awards and two Olympic gold medals. James has scored the second highest number of career goals, and the seventh most assists. James has been named as an NBA All Star 18 times. He was named an NBA All-Star 18 times to the All-NBA Team a record 18 times. He was also selected for the NBA All-Defensive First Team five times. He's played in the ten NBA Finals the third most all time including eight consecutively between 2011 and 2018. James was selected as a part of the NBA75th Anniversary Team. And in 2022, he became only the third NBA player to ever score at least 10,000 points in a career. James played basketball with St. Vincent St. Mary High School in Akron Ohio, where he grew up. National media touted him as a potential NBA superstar. As a prep-to-pro player, he was picked to the Cleveland Cavaliers with the first overall pick in 2003's NBA draft. In 2004 he was named NBA Rookie. He soon became one of league's top athletes, winning the NBA MVP award in the years 2009 and the year 2010. James signed a free-agent contract in 2010, after he failed to secure championships for Cleveland. He made the decision to leave Cleveland to join Miami Heat, announced on the television show The Decision, is considered as one of the most controversial free-agent actions in sports history.
